De Droom van de Beer plot

In the Dream of the Bear, Cherry Duyns reconstructs the history of the once famous Soviet circus on the basis of stories by former artists and archive images. Parallel to the demise of the circus, the decline of the communist regime is apparent. Duyns sought out a number of famous artists from the heyday of the Soviet circus, such as the clown Oleg Popov, the equestrian brothers Kantemirov and animal tamer Zapasjny, who received a box of chocolates from Stalin as a young artist.
