Elvis is alive! After the death of his wife, Byron Gruman (Jonathan Schaech) decides to deal with his grief by going on a journey. He leaves New Mexico for Memphis in his old battered car. Along the way, he picks up a hitchhiker (Harvey Keitel) who claims to be Elvis. Still shaken by his wife's death, Byron only plans to quickly drop the hitchhiker at the Elvis Graceland estate, but gradually Byron becomes more and more intrigued by the man and his ability to steal everyone's hearts.
