Three sailors Dolle Dries, Schele Manus and Blauwe Ton return after a long journey to the Dutch East Indies with family and friends in the Jordaan. They drink, have fun, are unhappy in love and in the end find no work. Dries therefore wants to leave the Jordaan again. After a fight with Leendert over Blonde Greet, Dries's fiancé, he is arrested. In prison he learns that Greet is unfaithful to him...
