Les Bidasses en Folie plot
Some young people give up their normal lives to start a pop group with the five of them. They steal half the village and find that their career can't start until they make money. Then they are called up for military service.

Rather lame jokes. Not always so dazzlingly new either.

The Charlots were extremely popular in the early 70's and it is the spirit of the times of the hippie and May 68 movement that resonates here. The urge for freedom and resistance against symbols of authority such as the police and the army. Not my kind of humor; the jokes are very lame and outdated. I'm not sure which is most ridiculed: the army or the hippies. Zidi later made comedies with De Funès and Pierre Richard, and they were infinitely better.
