A rather weak farce that might have worked somewhat in the (well, nominally) loose 1970s, but is simply too unbelievable for now. Worse, three-quarters of the cast stand there as if they don't believe a word of it. Even the very fine cast can't move.
Quickly forgotten, but. Oh yeah, my reason for wanting to see this film, my project to check off all the films Gene Hackman worked on. Yes, that's another tick off my list. But I don't really feel like it was worth it; his role is rather meaningless. Just like all the others, really.
