"Guest stars galore!"
When there is no director in Hollywood who wants to make a film with him, Jack Carson decides to take the directing himself. Unfortunately, his protagonist, Dennis Morgan, doesn't want to work with him either, so Carson enlists the attractive waitress Judy Adams to convince Morgan. In return, he promises Judy a part in his film and so her dream about a shining film career finally seems to come true.
