Tussenland plot

A young Sudanese refugee and a Dutch East Indies veteran are looking for a safe place in the Netherlands, but do not dare to register officially. He's afraid he won't be allowed to stay here. The veteran is an 80-year-old man. Disappointed in life, he spends his days in solitude. These two eccentrics meet when the young Sudanese invades the old man's life. This first leads to quarrels and enmity. However, a special friendship slowly develops.
