Microwave Massacre plot

"MAY'S IN THE MICROWAVE!"

For construction worker Donald, it has become increasingly difficult to get a nice meal at home, since his wife has decided to only prepare meals from the microwave. This and his wife's constant nagging cause something to snap in him. He beats his wife, and decides to use the microwave in a different way, so that he can eat well.

Disappointment.

The poster was reason enough to check it out, but it turns out to be the highlight of it all. A film chock full of bad humor, annoying acting, and nothing else. No atmosphere, no gore, no smooth execution, and no charm.

The story never unfolds well. The acting is obvious, of course, but that usually doesn't do anything for me. The main character, however, speaks in a deeply annoying voice and is often just plain embarrassing in his delivery. It's quite cheesy at first; the opening credits alone seemed like a good warm-up for what was to come, but unfortunately, while it has its moments, it remains a slow and rarely entertaining piece of work.

The biggest flaw is the gore. Although comedy takes center stage, there's still plenty of room for a generous helping of gore. There's nothing on screen anyway; you might see a plastic foot or hand two or three times, which fans aren't exactly thrilled about. If the humor isn't engaging enough to sustain the film and the atmosphere is more cheap than bad, the film is doomed, and you're left with a rather dull effort.

Not fun...even for the die hards.

Phew, this is a real bad product.

An attempt is made to give the film a comedic edge, but it fails miserably.

The section during and just after the opening credits starts off promisingly, but from there it just goes downhill.

Jackie Vernon plays the uninteresting character of Donald in a way that makes him seem uninterested. He also kills very casually, and there's no gore (unless we count the mannequin arms and legs as part of that).

Cheap and bad, I can't think of any other words for it. Simply not a successful spoof.
