L'Oeuvre au Noir plot
Zeno, a surgeon and alchemist in 16th century Flanders, roams Europe to escape the Inquisition, which persecutes him for his dissident writings and supposedly diabolical practices. Historical-philosophical reflection on the fate of man who tries to break free from the limitations and prejudices of his time, based on the novel by Marguerite Yourcenar.
