An unsuccessful sculptor saves the monster The Creeper from drowning one night. The monster is eternally grateful to him, and the artist takes the opportunity to make The Creeper make short work of the art critics who always humiliate him.

An atmospheric old horror film that manages to create an engaging hour (and five minutes) from a rather simple plot. The film's comfortable pace is due in part to its running time, with plenty of nighttime scenes, fog, and, of course, shadows. All of this creates a grim atmosphere.
Rondo Hatton is far from the best actor, but his looks make him a truly remarkable presence. No makeup was necessary, as his condition was most likely (unfortunately) caused by a certain type of poison gas during the First World War. It's impressive that this actor was able to translate his looks into success, even though he sadly didn't live long.
What also stands out in this film is the female beauty, the lovely, striking actresses! And a convincing detective performance by Bill Goodwin, who unfortunately also died at a relatively young age. 
House of Horrors isn't particularly special, but it is very entertaining and worth watching.
