Bewogen Koper plot

Based on anthropological research, documentary examining the remarkable transformation of the Western wind orchestra in various non-Western cultures. Van der Keuken filmed and Noshka van der Lely recorded the sound of orchestras from Nepal, Ghana, Suriname and Indonesia. Emphasis is placed on the assimilation of the marching music, often unperformed during colonization, into the autochthonous musical tradition. Various orchestra members are introduced, sketching a picture of daily life. An important part of this is the experience of religious rites at weddings and funerals, in which music plays a major role.
