Thought it was heavy, but very horrifying.

Not much to say about the story, but King couldn't have known that such a disaster would be made. Bad acting, time in which it should play is very bad. Just pure waste of time you better go to sleep.

Unlike Niels (Onderhond) I prefer to give my stars to Rush hour 3 for this weekend

A bit messy film, but somehow quite entertaining.

I don't think the acting is that bad at all in this movie. In contrast to many other Stephen King film adaptations, it did not bother me at all.
I also find the horror moments quite fun to watch, were it that they are more comical than scary. Many typical King moments. The special effects also leave a lot to be desired, but it's quite a laugh.
I also like the pace of the movie. I pushed the DVD into the player for the 3rd viewing yesterday and the 98 minutes went by smoothly.

The fact that I just don't give enough is mainly due to the end, when Alan suddenly starts giving us as an older man wise life lessons. The film thus tries to close with a serious message and I don't think that fits at all with all the foregoing. A typical WTF moment.

All in all, a mediocre whole. But as I mentioned earlier in this topic, there are many worse Stephen King movies.

And from one King to another King, or rather, from good to bad, because this movie didn't promise to be much and it didn't.

Well, where to start with this dragon. Alan is not an interesting character from the start. His so-called second-person visions and thoughts are more laughable and weird than interesting and exciting. And in the last mentioned makke the film stays for the most part. For a moment hope is dashed when Alan finally enters the named car and meets the driver, something that takes a whopping 55 minutes. But this also quickly results in vagueness and little tension.

There's plenty going on, that's far from the problem. It is correct that it is presented without atmosphere. The mystery or the tension that they try to create kills from the start, like that hippie in the VW van. Nice are links to other King stories such as the name Annie Wilkes from Misery and the car is of course a Plymouth Fury just like Christine. The music is also worth mentioning with The Strawberry Alarmclock, James Brown and The Zombies. But other than that this meant very little. Usually I'm mild for a somewhat mediocre King film adaptation, but this one was to forget very quickly.
