From the start of this one, I was captivated by Peter Sellers' calm, well-crafted playing. I thought, "Where is this supposed to go?" And then after almost two hours comes the touching end that was definitely worth the wait. Tears in my eyes afterwards. Played so tenderly and vulnerable, this small, human drama. Sinead Cusack, who was still young at the time, also contributed to this, although she sometimes came across as a bit childish. The transfer on brand new Blu-ray from HOFFMAN - LE – Lime Wood Media Ltd - powerhousefilms.co. uk was done with such precision (with very fine English subtitles), that seeing the film was a true viewing experience. Probably not so suitable for fans of a lot of action, because that was not the case at all.

Mediocre film about a man who blackmails his secretary into spending a week with him. Because of the set-up, the film cannot avoid becoming monotonous (actually just two characters that mainly take place in an apartment). The film is therefore dialogue driven. The interaction between the well-cast Peter Sellers and Sinead Cusack does have its moments here and there, but 3.0 stars is just a bit too much.

Slightly strange film with Peter Sellers and Sinéad Cusack that captivated from start to finish because as a viewer I kept wondering which way the film would go?

Sellers and Cusack manage to keep you interested throughout the entire running time, but in the end I find it difficult to judge whether I really like the film or whether it is mainly very strange and improbable? Nevertheless, I was fascinated and especially impressed by Peter Sellers' acting performance.

Eccentric and daring film that in any case managed to fascinate me more than many current films.

For fans, it is now available on Netflix.

Above average.
