The wealthy Commendatore Anzaloni was robbed. Despite his alibi, Inspector Ingravallo suspects the electrician Diomede. Ingravallo warns his betrothed Assunita to break up with Diomede. A little later, Liliana, Assunita's employer, is murdered.

With director Pietro Germi in the lead role and who stands out above many others, including a rarely mentioned Claudia Cardinale.
The movie really didn't appeal to me. After the French model, yes, but with much more blah, blah, blah.
A lot of suspects, but even more clumsy investigators who are actually drawn into the ridiculous, so that the film sometimes leans towards a comedy.
Would like to see more of Germi.
