Indeed. I laughed my head off. Great film. Richard Grant is hilarious.

Funny, when I told someone today that I had seen the movie 'keep the aspidistra flying', she asked if it was a SF movie.

Nice background music too.

Gordon Comstock is perhaps the most annoyingly written character I have ever seen in a movie, he is annoyingly arrogant, conceited, but at least he is someone who dares to give up his job at an advertising agency to pursue his dreams of becoming famous as a poetry writer.
However, his character gets in his way and he sabotages himself more than once.
However, it is disappointing to see that he suddenly throws everything overboard at the last moment because his girlfriend, who doesn't really like him that much, turns out to be pregnant with his child.
Once again a film with a clear message that the man should sacrifice himself in a boring job and should not have any dreams.
