Ever since her husband Pierre, a World War I pilot, offered her a test flight at his flying club, Thérèse Gauthier has been obsessed with flying. They give up their comfortable family life and start building a plane with which Thérèse wants to break a long-haul flight record.

After the event surrounding the French "aviatrice" Andrée Dupeyron who improved the record of a 4000 km flight in 1938.

Great film that was shot towards the end of WWII, but still during the occupation.

Very human, without exaggerated sentiments, simply and exemplary played by Charles Vanel and Madeleine Renaud, yet well-known names from that period of French film.
