Gangster boss Colletto (Marcello Mastroianni), also known as Stone-collar Charlie, has taken the beautiful whore Pupa (Sophia Loren) from the street to one of his nightclubs. He finds her so arousing that he takes her as his lover. That is very tiring for Pupa, because Charlie is very hot-tempered. When he kills someone, Pupa sees an auspicious opportunity to get rid of him.
