Turtle Beach plot

An ambitious reporter leaves home and hearth to leave for Malaysia to document and report on the fate of the thousands of Vietnamese boat refugees. She falls in love with Kanan and befriends Minou Hobday, who has set up a refuge for refugees on the beach. One day she witnesses a brutal massacre of Vietnamese refugees by Malaysians. It becomes clear to her that her work to bring this horror to the world is far from done.
