In Gefahr und Größter Not Bringt der Mittelweg den Tod plot
The film consists of raw and random fragments, with the minimum guideline being an East German agent whose mission is to compile a file on the secrets of West Germany. Her male companion has convinced her that the true secrets lie in everyday events, and the viewer sees a deliberately disordered collage, framed by the fight that breaks out between protesters and the police when a number of old houses are demolished. The "secret" of the state is the life of its citizens; a crane that demolishes a house is an 'ideological proposition'; a political cliché is an important weapon in the hands of a politician. However, her employers disapprove of her report, because they don't want a lyrical impression, but a business one.
