"...leaves a taste of evil!"
1933, in the midst of the Great Depression. Calif is passing through and knocks on a family's door to earn some money. The daughter of the house, Hannah, is married to Sidney, a good-for-nothing who beats his wife and frequents brothels. Calif falls victim to a smear campaign by Sidney and finds it increasingly difficult to cope with his past and his burgeoning love for Hannah.
