A Sound of Thunder plot

"Some Rules Should Never Be Broken."

New York. Hi-tech super concern where Ben Kingsley holds sway and which mainly specializes in preserving animals in danger of extinction. They earn a lot of money with a virtual safari, in which, for a fee, people are sent back to pre-history via a hi-tech computer, where they hunt life-size animals, including dinosaurs, in the wild. All this is done under strict rules. For example, the participants have special clothing, separate weaponry and they are absolutely not allowed to step off the track where they walk up and from where they hunt. That could have terrible consequences.

Best to prune

If you get through the first 10 minutes, you're in for a pretty fun adventure.

Sometimes beautiful environments and a strong story make up for a lot

The idea of the disrupted evolution through time travel was pretty good, but what a poorly produced movie they've put down here. In 2005 there must have been much better CGI effects to name just a few ?

The character roles were also bad and miscast here and there. That Burns did not fit in the film at all and ruins the film by his entire presence. I hadn't seen Catherine McCormack in a long time after Braveheart.

The story can be well thought out, but with these kinds of films you really have to put down something visually. If Spielberg had put down this dissent at his 1st Jurassic Park, the whole Dino concept would have been a total flop.

Unfortunately.

The CGI in the movie is so bad that you can't tell right away whether people are enjoying themselves in virtual reality or whether they have gone to the past. It certainly does not provide the necessary atmosphere in the film. The cast is bad, the film doesn't look good and there is little enthusiasm. Too bad, because the story itself is nice. I think a reboot with a nice cast and some better effects could work. And it's always a shame to see Ben Kingsley (also films like Schindler's List and Gandhi) in so many of those bungling roles.
