The protagonist Aumont has only a weak role in this horror story that offers little tension. Karloff in his last film also deserved more, but his role becomes important towards the end. The horror story offers many possibilities, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Some scenes are filmed so briefly that they are unnecessary and at the same time make the film chaotic. 5/10
