An exploitation film with a twist. Violent, sadistic, humiliating, and more of those sensitive elements. With Hess on board, you know what time it is, but it seems to want something more than just some grim, sleazy gore. This mainly takes place between the Mancinis, where a rather clumsy, erratic, and bitter relationship is presented and exposed.

The girl with the golden ass has more power than you'd think, and Nero, right from the campsite, portrays a fascinating jerk in words and deeds. In that respect, the ending is quite unexpected, though it struggles to get there. As if the film needs a reboot for that. The Duel duel is indeed impressive, and Morricone's strumming track, with its sultry flourishes, is truly one to be framed.

A dirty job with a lead character who garners little sympathy from the viewer, until an even bigger jerk comes on board. This is a clever touch, and the resulting love triangle, where Eve is constantly being the one being screwed but also taking the piss out of her, makes for some exciting scenes.
The dialogue does get a bit jarring at one point, with the two men calling each other all sorts of names. The climax is beautifully filmed, surprising, but arrives a bit too late. The music is good too, and the rape scene is beautifully shot with wonderful use of music; however cruel it may be.

A captivating road movie with a fair amount of brutal violence and great one-liners from the three protagonists, who together form a strong asset in this film. A lot happens, and it's anything but predictable given the twists and turns that unfold in the story. Franco Nero is convincing as the selfish drunkard who regularly humiliates his wife, Eve. David Hess also plays well as the deranged psychopath who has his sights set on Eve. And Eve, played by Corinne Cléry, is the only character who can evoke any sympathy. She plays her role convincingly and is frequently seen naked. And in terms of appearance, she's definitely a sight to behold. The finale is surprising and you don't really see it coming, but if you think back to the beginning of the film (hunting a deer), it makes sense given the strained relationship. 7/10
