Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her plot

"A man only sees what a woman wants him to know."

The film tells the stories of five different women who live in the Los Angeles area. Although they don't know each other, they do have something in common; they are looking for true love. dr. Keener (Glenn Close) is a successful gynecologist who cares for her disabled mother in her spare time. Ambitious Rebecca (Holly Hunter) becomes pregnant with her married boyfriend and Rose (Kathy Baker) is a writer who begins an affair with a lilliputian who lives on her street. There is also the actress Christine (Calista Flockhart), who takes care of her ailing friend Lilly in her spare time. And finally, there's police officer Kathy (Amy Brenneman). Kathy never makes time for some romance in her life unlike her blind sister Carol (Cameron Diaz). However, when a colleague of Kathy shows interest in her, she has to believe it. Although all women are successful and intelligent, they all seem to have a hard time giving meaning to their lives.

Beautiful frame story about a number of events in the lives of a number of women. The separate segments touch each other laterally and are cut off before they even end. This is made up for in the final minutes of the film, where each story is beautifully concluded. Excellent acting by a mainly female cast, and told at a slow but pleasant pace.

I previously saw this partly on TV and found it in the grab bins for €1 and have now watched it in full. The film therefore consists of different stories that are then linked together. The various stories are mostly drama, only the story of the woman with the dwarf was rather romantic. I thought this story was the best, although the rest is also good. The cast really stands out, because they are all well-known ladies. They all did well.

The film is more than worth its price and is definitely worth watching again, so if you see it, don't hesitate and give it a watch.

12th film of the Cameron Diaz marathon!

I was quite disappointed with the film, although I didn't really have high expectations. They are all separate stories that are connected in some way, which normally never makes me excited. The cast is good with Diaz, Hunter and Close being the best known. Close really has a completely meaningless role and actually the only fun storyline was with Diaz and Baker.

I don't think the storylines are really about love or romance. They are also not really connected, only that certain characters suddenly appear in each other's story without this making a difference. It's more just a glimpse into their daily lives where nothing special happens and which will lead to nothing. The cast consists of too many people, so it doesn't go into depth. Since several women have a affair with the same man (it appears at the end) the following title is more suitable for the film: ''Things you can tell by fucking with her''.
