The April Fools plot
"He has a wife. She has a husband. With so much in common they just have to fall in love."
The unhappily married Howard Brubaker falls in love with the beautiful Catherine Gunther, who is trapped in just such a marriage. He meets her at his boss's party and gradually Howard realizes that she is his boss's wife. When Catherine suggests that they both leave their current relationship and flee to her hometown of Paris, Howard agrees and says goodbye to his old life.
