Beforehand I thought this would be another music biopic like many have come out in recent years - Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocket Man, Yesterday, Elvis, and so on. But then about a band that is really cool: The Clash. But that doesn't really seem to be the case, because this was already made in 1980 when The Clash was still active.

Still, it is of course about The Clash, and about a fictional roadie who goes out with them. Still reasonable as a time document with a lot of politics, emerging fascism, skinheads and the National Front, and The Clash is a very cool band. But even for someone who has turned the band gray (like yours truly) this is a tough session. There is no other story to be seen, the roadie is boring at positive moments and sometimes just annoying, and this really shouldn't have lasted more than two hours. Fortunately, The Clash still often performs live, but even that I was a bit tired of it at a certain point. Quite a disappointment, to be honest.
