Women in Love plot

"The relationship between four sensual people is limited: They must find a new way."

England 1920. At a wedding of Laura and Tibby, Gudrun, a free-thinking sculptor, and her sister Ursula, a teacher, meet friends Gerald and Rupert with whom they begin a relationship. Rupert in particular constantly initiates discussions about friendship and love between men and women, which are the subject of plenty of philosophizing. After Rupert and Ursula get married, they go on a honeymoon with Gerald and Gudrun to Switzerland. There Gudrun meets the bisexual sculptor Loerke. She begins an affair with him, much to the anger of Gerald who cannot handle it.
