De Grote Vakantie plot

After the announcement from his attending physician that the prostate cancer cells are spreading further in his body and that he only has a few months to live, Johan van der Keuken decides to go on a trip. As always together with his life partner and regular sound woman Nosh van der Lely. The trip around the world takes him, among other things, to Buddhist monks in Nepal, past poverty and drought in the Sahel and at the end to New York where a new medicine gives hope again. Van der Keuken comments on his experiences with poetic background texts and reflections on life and death.
