Poulidor Premier plot

In the 60s and 70s, Raymond 'Poupou' Poulidor was very popular in France, despite or perhaps because of the fact that he had to acknowledge his superiority as 'eternal second' in the toppers outside of category Jacques Anquetil and later Eddy Merckx. He finished second in the Tour three times. But he did win Milan-Sanremo, De Waalse Pijl, The Tour of Spain, Paris-Nice (2 times), the Dauphiné Liberé (2 times) and the French Championship.
