Funny. Script is originally a brainchild of Charles Band, later rewritten under a different title by Bookwalter (director of the very fine The Dead Next Door) and directed by then newbie Danny Draven. He has already done a bit more - especially as a producer - to his name. The budget of $50,000 in combination with an ambitious plot naturally causes some problems, but I'd rather they miss than not hit at all. In the end, there are a number of nice mechanical designs and a handful of hilarious quotes, but those endless driving scenes with crappy music could have been left out for me. Annoying filler that is...
