Kansas, circa 1850. Lucas Darcy is a ruthless man who wants more than what life is willing to offer. Darcy takes advantage of the Jayhawkers, who started out as anti-slavery activists, to support his growing power in the region. Opposing Darcy's unscrupulous grasp of control over the region is former inmate Cam Bleeker. Bleeker knows that Darcy was responsible for his wife's death while he was in prison and wants to get him out of the way.
