"A French playboy gets serious when his country is threatened during World War II"

Paris, 1943. Murderer Jean Picard escapes execution during a bombing raid. Inspector Marcel Bonet sees a chance to pick him up again. When Picard is willing to turn himself in as a saboteur to the German occupiers to save the lives of a hundred innocent hostages, Bonet finds himself in a conflict of conscience.
