St. Joseph, Missouri, 1882. Bob Ford is in love with his childhood friend, actress Cynthy Waters. When Ford kills Jesse James, he gets amnesty himself and a reward of $500 with which he hopes to build a new future, preferably with Cynthy. After the murder of Jesse James, however, it appears that Cynthy is more interested in another man. In addition, Frank James does not intend to let his brother's death go unpunished.
