The Tulse Luper Suitcases, Part 1: The Moab Story plot
Tulse Luper, a writer and property developer, spends much of his life in prisons. In 1938 he ends up in prison in Moab, Utah. Luper is arrested for his contact with an American-German family, who are about to travel to Europe for business gain from World War II. Four members of this family, who have interests in uranium production in Europe, among other things, are prison guards. They are all fascinated by Luper. Luper learns to make the most of his prison time. Not only with the writing on the walls, but also with coming up with literary projects, with theatre, film and painting, and involving his keepers in all kinds of plans and adventures.
