The headstrong Jo [HER] and studious Raissa [Liza Soberano] have been best friends for years. Raissa's decision to study in the US puts their friendship to the test. But then Jo finds the key to the Forgotten Island her grandmother [Dolly De Leon] always talked about, and the two friends embark on one last adventure. Aside from the cliché of the nerdy glasses, the main characters are developed in a refreshing way. The island is full of colorful creatures and offers plenty of surprises, and the story is a fine mix of action, comedy, and sentiment. Without the exaggerated voice acting, the frequently hyperkinetic animation, and the dominant musical score, this would have been a gem.
