Mannenkoor Karrespoor: Meer Ku'j d'r Niet van Maek'n plot

In the early nineties, a joke in a pub in Tuk grew into a national hit. The Karrespoor Men's Choir unexpectedly ended up on large stages, on television, and on the radio. For the down-to-earth men from the Kop van Overijssel, it was a strange world that they tried to enter with both feet on the ground. When money and success came into play, the men faced a dilemma: how do they ensure that this joke that got out of hand is still fun to look back on 35 years from now?

In 1990, a group of friends in café De Karre in Tuk, Overijssel, came up with the idea to record a song as a joke. They thought it would be nice to be in a studio for a change and to be able to play their own single on the jukebox in the café. Totally unexpectedly, 'Mooi Man' became a huge hit and an anthem for the farming community. 35 years later, the group of friends from back then decides to record a new single. Despite drinking a lot of beer, they have always remained very down-to-earth. Apart from the memories of the two deceased members of the group, this is devoid of sentimentality and is primarily a portrait of a group for which friendship naturally took priority over commercial success or financial gain.
