A decent film in which a team of specialists attempts to collect a borrowed sum of one billion. Although it is presented in a reasonably complicated manner, the plot is quite predictable. The film plays like a heist movie (without there actually being a real heist). It doesn't amount to much, but it is still quite entertaining and the film has a brisk pace.

Since Guy Ritchie no longer possesses the drive to act he had at the beginning of his career, his films are actually quite watchable. Completely colorless (and also lacking any character of its own, but that was true of all his work in the early days as well), yet skillfully made enough to entertain. This latest offering is no exception. Occasionally told in a somewhat messy manner, and often highly implausible how things are pulled off, but precisely by placing so much emphasis on the preparation, the film retains a certain individuality. The acting is solid, the locations decent, and the action reasonably well-filmed. Overall, it is well-paced, allowing the film to really let loose at the end. Otherwise already forgotten outside the cinema, but the fact that this thing clocks in well under 100 minutes is also quite nice. 3.0*.

Still a fine piece of craftsmanship by director Guy Ritchie, who places a bit more emphasis on the action here. The story remains strong, just as in many of Ritchie's other projects. Many motives and actions are explained, albeit often rather lazily. The simplicity with which Eiza González's character achieves her goals is quite far-fetched and gets somewhat swallowed up by the high pace, but Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill form a fine duo and Ritchie's professional editing makes multiple action moments possible. The finale, in particular, thunders along nicely, with effective editing, tight camerawork, and a fine pace. An enjoyable outing at the cinema, as far as I'm concerned.
