Leviticus (2026)

A somewhat vague film about homosexuality, acceptance, religion, and the problems associated with them. A bit of a metaphor for the taboo surrounding such relationships, insofar as that still exists in Western society. It never really gets scary, and at a certain point, you pretty much know it all; it feels like a repetition of the same old thing. A somewhat failed attempt to bring various factors together.

Well, it's the gay version of It Follows, but you'd be better off skipping this one. At one point, I thought the entity was going to take the form of a transgender person or a drag queen, and then it is indeed a case of running away. The tension only builds somewhat in the last 25 minutes, but even that doesn't save this film.

A promising premise that is disappointingly superficially developed. Chiarella navigates between romantic melodrama and horror and misses the mark on both fronts, despite good acting from Bird and Clausen.
