Det Nye År plot

A group of old friends gathers on New Year's Eve, as they do every year, to celebrate with traditions, memories, and shared rituals. But someone is missing: Martin, who died in a tragic accident years ago. This year, Nomi, Martin's ex-girlfriend, brings her new boyfriend, Finn, along for the first time. Because he has little sense of what questions are appropriate and has a tendency to broach sensitive topics, Finn throws the close-knit group into turmoil. It becomes an unforgettable evening that could mark a new beginning for all of them.

Widow Nomi [Tuva Novo] chooses her apartment on New Year's Eve (the place and day her husband died) to introduce her friends to her new boyfriend, Finn [Lars Brygmann]. Not entirely unintelligible (except for Nomi), emotions run high, leading to predictable misadventures and a forced happy ending in this beautifully filmed, but poorly written (because it lacks credibility) comedy-drama.
