Literally and figuratively fallen pop star Mother Mary [Anne Hathaway] prepares for her comeback. To do so, she turns to her extremely bitter and passively aggressive costume designer [Michaela Coela]. The obsession with finding the right dress (for a performance of a few minutes) is almost as incomprehensible as the reasons why these two people put up with each other for longer than a few minutes. Coela seems like a zombie in this ridiculous and extraordinarily pretentious psychological drama. Not even the beautiful visuals can do anything about it. After all, they are just as hollow as the superficial, overproduced pop tunes that Mother Mary has success with for some reason.
