Surprising.

I had actually expected a drama, but this was apparently an anthology based on a book by Murakami, with some fantasy elements to make it a bit more unique. That combination likely makes it somewhat difficult to find a target audience, but for a film that is simply available on Netflix, I had expected a bit more enthusiasm.

I quite liked the alternation between the two genres. The focus is just slightly different within each short, the acting and presentation are strong, and although it lacks the variety of a typical anthology with multiple directors, I had little trouble with the transitions between the different parts. A very pleasant discovery this, and for once, I have no reason to complain about availability.
