Estados Generales plot

The journey of a seed that starts in the archives of the Botanical Garden in Madrid and ends in El Guayabo, an Afro-Peruvian village on the southern coast of Peru, where the seed was originally collected during a colonial expedition in the early 1800s. Thought extinct, the seed is described in the journals of a colonial botanist as a medicine for pre-Columbian cultures and as a means of bringing about alterations in consciousness.
