"Eat the rich."
When a wildfire ravages the Hollywood Hills, a family is stranded as their neighborhood is destroyed, transforming their home into a burning prison. To make matters worse, the situation escalates when a pack of predatory coyotes, disoriented by the fire, intensifies their enclosure around the house. Powerless by collapsing roads and no electricity, the family must rely on their courage, resilience, and love for each other to survive both the inferno and the snarling threat outside.

I've always loved watching Justin Long and Kate Bosworth perform, and in this film together, they seem to have an extra spark. They weren't exactly the perfect pair for a blockbuster, but they were definitely the perfect pair for a special film with something a little different.
I see this one as the landlubbers' answer to the whole shark genre, with a few digs at the A-team and MacGyver thrown in. Pretty funny, with more witty dialogue than you'd expect, and with some surprisingly blunt gore at times. And the newlyweds are incredibly funny together; it almost seems like they're truly in love.
It's not very surprising, but it's enjoyable, and it stays right on the edge of being overly sentimental. Although it does come very close.
