It took me a while to get into it because of the jumps in time, but ultimately, this is a beautiful and moving film about the tragic story of Julian Boom and Fleur Pierets. Highly recommended! (Despite the low average rating here)

Fleur [Nina Meurisse] and Julian [Laurence Roothooft] meet in Paris in 2017 and it's love at first sight. Two years later, Fleur conceives the idea of traveling together to the 22 countries where same-sex marriage is legal and remarrying in each of them. A grand romantic gesture that gains extra emotional weight through a tragic twist. Meurisse and Roothooft are authentic as the lovers, and Kusters certainly has a flair for visual style, but the story is thin and quickly told. The second half adds little, as the outcome is already clear. Based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Fleur Pierets.
