They came from nowhere, left everything behind, and forever changed the Dutch pop scene. This documentary offers a glimpse into the rise, fame, and rough edges of one of the most talked-about bands of the moment: Goldband. In 2019, three young men from The Hague decided to change course. What began as an impulse grew into a musical storm. They performed at Lowlands, Rock Werchter, and the Ziggo Dome, and are known for hits like Noodgeval (Night Case), Witte Was (White Was), and Stiekem (Sticky). We see how the boys touched a generation with their vulnerability, charisma, and uncompromising style, and how success began to grate.

An exceptionally candid portrait of Milo, Karel, and Boaz, who dreamed of a musical breakthrough from 2018 onward in a home studio. This came about because their euphoric songs about partying and enjoying freedom struck a chord with young adults in particular during the COVID crisis. Homemade video footage captures the period of great success with Witte Was (2019) and Noodgeval (2021). Goldband's career takes a sharp turn when the trio, along with arranger, producer, and guitarist Wieger Hoogendorp, grappled with the follow-up to their acclaimed album "Betaalbare Romantiek." It provides poignant insight into a struggle every artist faces after their big breakthrough: delivering a successor that is at least as good as theirs.
