The Last Rodeo plot
Retired rodeo star Joe Wainright wants to save his grandson after he ends up in the hospital. So he enters a bull riding competition as the oldest competitor there. Along the way, he confronts his past, discovers faith, and proves that true courage is found in fighting for a family.

50-year-old former rodeo champion Raymond Garraty (Cooper Hoffman) risks everything to earn the money to pay for the surgery that will save his grandson's (Neal McDonough's) life. Despite his age and a serious career-ending injury, he and his right-hand man, Charlie (Mykelti Williamson), are preparing for a highly contested rodeo where they hope to win a medal. Additional obstacles include a self-righteous rodeo champion (Matt West) and the organizer (Christopher McDonald), with whom Raymond has had a history of feuding. The production and direction are excellent, but the story is rather hackneyed.
