A nonsensical film in which sharks initially threaten a tourist resort and then the coastal town where it's located. With minimal resources, director Morito Inoue creates a wild mix of horror, action, and comedy. A film full of frenetic action sequences, boisterous characters, and lousy effects. And a film with a ridiculous story. You could say it's the Japanese version of Sharknado.

With a bit of good will, you can filter some socially critical elements from the film. Something about runaway capitalism. Something about social media. In the film's frenzied frenzy, these themes quickly get lost in a pile of absurdity characterized by copious amounts of artificial blood and very poor digital effects. Effects that were probably deliberately made poorly to generate even more hilarity on top of the hilarity. In keeping with all the exaggeration, the acting is also exaggerated. Even in the exaggeration, the acting is exaggeratingly bad. The characters are horribly funny, by the way. I couldn't stop laughing.

Everything is done to maintain the hilarity. Meanwhile, the events in the film become more extreme and even more ridiculous. Even more exuberant. Even funnier. Even more hilarious. Even more excruciating. It didn't do anything for me humorously. In terms of annoyance, it did a lot for me. What an incredibly awful film.
