Just watched it. Atmospheric film in a mysterious Scottish setting. Always works well. Not as "over the top" as American versions of this subgenre, many of which I've seen now. No, this is the better work, believable, even though Satan is a fictional entity with everything that happens around him. I love the UK anyway, for its rugged nature and cultural heritage. Moreover, the demon is portrayed "real" in the film. It's impressive that the director chose to interject the "devilish" voice with a normal, sensitive one. Some clichés are left out, like the destruction of everything around them in the room. That actually makes it more believable. I also thought the story and the origin of the skull found in the garden provided a good basis for the film's development. And they certainly succeeded. Something different. Highly recommended!

I understand that tastes differ, but there's such a thing as quality, script, execution, and acting, and this monstrosity proves to be simply awful. My 0.5 points are for the beautiful Scottish scenery, because the film gets a solid 0!

He's rightly criticized almost everywhere, as you can see from the ratings on IMBD, which is actually quite a lot. My wife is a huge horror fan; she watches things that I tune out after five minutes. She thought this was the worst thing she'd ever seen, and understandably tuned out fifteen minutes before the end.

I find Pippi Longstocking much more exciting.

How you can give this a 4 is a complete mystery to me. I think a community service order for the creator is more appropriate...
