Protector plot
Nikki, a former war hero, wakes up tied up in an abandoned factory. She discovers that her daughter Chloe has been kidnapped. When she escapes, Nikki plunges into the criminal underworld in search of Chloe. She soon attracts the attention of both the police and the military, putting her at the top of the most wanted list.

A film that is entertaining to watch, although it takes some getting used to how Jovovich looks these days—quite skinny and her face isn't getting any prettier. But at a certain point, it almost becomes a Rambo clone, especially when that colonel appears with stolen lines from First Blood "I'm not here to protect her, but you and your men". 
Apparently, Hollywood has run out of scripts. Still, it's actually pretty okay though.

Mediocre action movie. The story is insignificant and seems to have been ripped off from predecessors like Taken and First Blood. The execution is borderline. The film is easy to watch and the action is fairly standard but is skillfully filmed. Unfortunately, the film does contain some plot holes, making it feel a bit clumsy at times. The plot twist at the end, in particular, feels very out of place and unnecessary. The acting is adequate. It's a shame that the bad guy is very one-dimensional and boring. Worse movies have been made. 2.5/3.0
