Director Will Wernick's unimpressive career receives no boost with Time of Death, which is characterized primarily by the fact that he lacks the qualities to successfully combine these kinds of genres. His latest film combines a mystery film with a thriller, with occasional touches of horror possibly referencing his older films. In essence, Time of Death is a fairly dull affair in which revelations are consistently unveiled in a highly implausible manner. For example, Michael Kelly finding certain evidence in a cabinet in villain Kevin Pollak's office; at moments like that, you immediately feel that the script has been rushed. The acting is decent, and a nice atmosphere is occasionally created, but the majority of the whole thing is mostly uninteresting and simplistic.
